Description:	The Marasa-Sarovar Premiere is a unique thematic hotel in Bodhgaya, which welcomes Buddhist pilgrims and visitors from across the world. The hotel’s architectural style draws inspiration from local architectural elements, materials and techniques that results in minimal and meditative spaces across the complex. We were commissioned to design the wayfinding and signage for the hotel, as well as installations that were artistic interpretations of Buddhist concepts such as the Vajradhatu Mandala and the five wisdoms of Buddhism – Abhaya, Dharmachakra, Varada, Dhyana and Bhumisparsha. The signage and artwork we designed, combine the material aspects of the architecture with the abstract aspects of Buddhist philosophy to create a series of elements that not only guide the visitor through the beautifully designed spaces but also through the symbolism of the overall theme. We used a minimal material palette of pink dholpur stone – used across the hotel – as a base material and solid copper as the primary material for signs and other sculptural elements.
