Description: | WPP foundation’s vision with Project Vidya Varidhi was to prepare today’s disenfranchised youth for a better tomorrow and encourage higher education. A new model was developed for one of the largest schools in Mumbai’s suburban area. The mission was to provide an environment to enable and empower the youth to achieve their dreams through improved education and informed livelihood choices. This was achieved by the idea of “From classrooms to joyrooms” – where the layout was changed from a conventional table-chair classroom to a more lab-like space, establishing a culture of constructive collective community that empowers students to work together to develop their strengths. The space transformed from a dull, predictable environment to one which now actively adds to learning experience of 4000+ students across three other schools. This model is only the start for how we can reduce dropout rates and help students harness their ambition and hunger to grow. |
