| Description: | The vision for Vita Moderna was to establish a luxurious retail destination showcasing exclusive, high-end products from the design industry that would mirror the versatility, sophistication, and aesthetic of Milan’s esteemed Brera District within Mumbai's bustling urban environment. Central to the brief was the need for a space that seamlessly accommodates luxury brands while preserving the historical integrity of the building. Situated within the historic Raghuvanshi Mills, the design expertly preserves key architectural elements such as the 24-foot ceiling height, 11-foot window openings, and load-bearing brick walls. The design follows an adaptive reuse strategy, blending the industrial charm of weathered columns and aged metal windows with modern European aesthetics. This approach not only maintains the building’s storied past but also introduces a dynamic and luxurious retail environment, harmoniously combining historical integrity with contemporary design elements. Sustainability was a key focus in the Vita Moderna project, with efforts to minimize environmental impact through the restoration of original brick walls, reducing the need for new materials. Water-based products were chosen for low VOC emissions, and strategic insulation was implemented to improve energy efficiency. Vita Moderna emphasises brand identity by seamlessly incorporating each brand's essence into its design. |
