| Description: | IPL is the most popular cricket league in the world, and Mumbai Indians it’s most popular team. They are a treat to watch as players smash sixes into the orbit, bowl deadly yorkers, spin the ball like wizards and take catches that defy gravity. So, for the 2024 campaign we decided to celebrate their superpowers by creating ‘Mumbai Indians Superhero Verse’. A collection of 25 posters that celebrate the unbelievable heroic efforts of the Mumbai India squad and showcasing them as Superheroes. Getting them out of the mobile screen and into a larger than life avatar on fan bedroom walls. Star batsman Ishaan Kishan becomes the ‘Pocket Dynamo’, pace bowler Bumrah is crowned ‘Toe Crusher’, Tim Davis ‘Tames the Dragon’ with his bat and Aakash Madhwal is the ‘Human Fireball’ thanks to his super fast deliveries. The art style of the posters pay homage to retro comic book style. Exaggerated visuals, vibrant colours, bold typography and typical call outs add to each Superhero story. The posters opened the doors for an animation series, gave the franchise an opportunity for licensing and merchandise, and started conversations for the Superhero IP to be taken into different channels for marketing their squad. |
