Description: | Background: Garram sought a brand identity that celebrated the richness of Indian culture while appealing to a modern audience. The task was to evoke the warmth and soulfulness of Indian cuisine while ensuring the design remained fresh and approachable Approach: To achieve this, we delved into India’s visual identity, drawing inspiration from its historical design elements. We explored the vibrant world of Indian culture, including matchbox labels, vintage ads, the eclectic charm of hawker storefronts, and the expressive typography of trucks. This approach embodies the essence of grassroots design. The bold, condensed wordmark captures the richness and warmth of Indian cuisine. The carefully chosen colour palette mirrors the vibrant hues of Indian dishes, reinforcing the cultural significance of the brand. The dynamic design of the wordmark adds a lively, energetic feel, reflecting the ever-evolving nature of Indian food. The supporting typeface, with its thick, irregular edges, embodies the generosity and soulfulness of Indian cuisine, capturing its delicious, albeit sometimes messy, essence. Results: Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 50,000 Instagram followers, Garram has forged a strong connection with its audience, distinguishing itself in the digital food space. |
