Description: For Podi Cafe, we developed a design system that reflects the essence of South Indian culture through thoughtful illustrations, patterns, and colour play. The brand identity captures the journey of Podi, founded by Lipy and Chirag, who, with Amma’s culinary expertise, bring authentic South Indian flavours to Western India.

Our team travelled to South India, immersing ourselves in the local culture to understand the region's unique nuances. These insights inspired elements such as banana trees, rangoli, and lotus motifs, which were integrated across various touchpoints—logo mark, packaging, signage, and menus.

The menu design, inspired by South Indian courtyards, and the colour-coded packaging for Podi powders are examples of how cultural authenticity is balanced with modern design principles. Every detail, from the hand illustration on the Podi packaging to the embroidered tree elements on table mats, is meticulously crafted to resonate with the brand’s narrative.

The identity system's versatility is evident in its application across different mediums, from intimate menu designs to impactful hoardings. Our approach goes beyond conventional design, embracing material exploration and craft to create a holistic brand experience that speaks to both the tradition and design importance inherent in Podi Cafe.
