Description: | ConstitutionofIndia.net is a not-for-profit initiative by the Centre for Law and Policy Research. An open access digital platform designed to encourage a primary reading of the constitution, supported by historical context and insight to aid a deeper understanding of its significance. It aims at creating a new Indian citizen who is critically aware of Indian constitutional history and its impact in shaping our everyday lives. We helped the CLPR team redesign the website, structure the browsing experience, and create an identity that can grow the initiative beyond the digital realm. The outcome was a type-first visual language that is both accessible and engaging. Large volume of information fortified every corner of the grid and type system. We used a fresh colour palette to bring lightness and peppered sections with simplified illustrations inspired by the ornamental elements and artistic style of the original book. The idea was to bring clarity and build curiosity in equal measure - making a subject that is often neglected or taught poorly in schools easy to read and inviting to explore. We hope it succeeds in engaging with a wider audience and furthering a vibrant constitutional culture in India through a shared understanding of constitutional origins. |
