Description:	The packaging industry generates around 82 million tons of plastic waste annually which ends up in landfills. We repurposed this waste into art with Technogaianism– a larger than life art installation serving as a motivation to follow the 3 Rs of sustainability. For the installation, 1200 kg of industrial plastic packaging waste was sourced and made into thin ropes. For sourcing and to repurpose we collaborated with the small communities working across the northern states of India. These ropes were eventually weaved onto the metal frames by 15 master weavers from West Bengal. 30+ metal frames came together to create a 1900+ sq ft tall art installation, beautifully depicting the synergy of nature, humans and technology. Employing artists, weavers and small communities from the hinterlands of India, Technogaianism successfully completed its journey from waste to wonder in 90 days. The art installation not only provided an opportunity for local artisans to showcase their craft, but also highlighted the pressing need for mindful resource utilization.
